Divorce 101: Supporting Myself to Transition Kindly

Context

About 50% of all marriages end with divorce.

Separation and Divorce is a significant life shift.

Separation and Divorce can turn relationships, familiarities, and securities that previously existed - until that D-moment - drastically on their head.

Separation and Divorce can become a chronic high-stress situation.

Separation and Divorce can initiate significant change - that can fall along the continuum of friendly and desirable to life threatening and unwanted.

Separation and Divorce can bring many new bureaucrats, authorities, judges, lawyers, into your life with which you previously rarely (when at all) had anything to previously do with.

Even a friendly and supportive Separation and Divorce can feel turbulent and less than desirable.

Children of divorcing couples, gather their own experiences. Their experiences are largely derived from how their parents shape, design, and interact during Separation and Divorce situations.

  • How you experience divorce, sets the stage for your life after divorce.

  • How you care for yourselves during divorce, sets the stage for your divorce experience.

Yes to Yourself? in Divorce 101: Supporting Myself to Transition Kindly we practice The Work of Byron Katie

The Work of Byron Katie® (referred to as The Work or inquiry or self-inquiry), is a way other than we may have learned to receive, process, and open up to don’t likedon’t want — don’t feel safe — and stress laden — situations.

In scientific research, The Work is named, Inquiry Based Stress Reduction® and parallels findings in modern neurological science.

The Work is a way to practice self-love, connect to yourself, your capacities, your truth, your internal wisdom, and the world around you to experience peace, freedom, and gain security, independent from and connected to everything else around you.

This process enables you to show up from a space of clarity; to experience personal intimacy and self-trust, and exercise self-leadership in new, supportive, and profound ways for yourself and your dependents.

“It is unfathomable to imagine how the shifts I experienced, positively affected my daughter. Again and again, I noticed: I care for me, so that I can also show up an be present for my child: I clean up my emotional mess, and my daughter becomes free; I address my fears, and my daughter becomes happier. This work has an individual touch to it. In reality, it takes the whole world with it.”
